Palm Sunday in Finland

Virpominen is a well loved tradition by Finnish children, it is a kind of Finnish version of "Trick or Treat". You decorate your own willow branch with paper flowers etc. You go door to door swinging your branch and wishing health, wealth, love etc good things to people. In return you get chocolate eggs. My friends and I used to say: "Virvon varvon tuoreeks terveeks rikkaaks rakkaaks."

Mulberry Tree

This is my mulberry tree that we pruned last fall.
I am anxiously waiting for any signs of life on it.
I am sorry if I harmed you little tree. I am confident
we will meet again. You don't have to make me
any berries if you are mad. I will be more than happy
just to see a few leaves on you.
